Welcome Casamance

We are delighted to announce that the French textile brand, Casamance, is now available in New Zealand exclusively through James Dunlop Textiles.

Founded in 2000, Casamance is the epitomy of contemporary French style, mixing timeless elegance with a luxe aesthetic inspired by fine art, the natural world and global travel.

Casamance’s fabric and wallpaper designs utilise a broad range of different materials, rich colour, and printing and weaving techniques, combining them effortlessly to create harmony and give the brand its unique signature style.

KEY FABRIC COLLECTIONS

Habana

With Habana, Casamance brings the colours of Cuba into domestic interiors to create a warm and tropical atmosphere. Playfully mingling textures and deep colours, the fabric subtly reflects light, giving it a character that changes over the course of the day.

Bodeguita

Bodeguita transports us into the rhythm of Cuban percussion. Just as musical styles mix, the materials and textures are enriched with depth and touches of metallic.

Floridita

El Floridita transports us into an intimate atmosphere of dance and Cuban music, an atmosphere embodied by this collection of jacquards full of warmth and light. The textural effects and flashes of gold recall the legendary wooden bar counter at favoured haunt of Ernest Hemingway – the bar which gives the collection its name.

Beauharnias

The Beauharnais, or curl-crested Aracari, lives in the immense trees of tropical rainforests. The symbol of freedom, movement, and unity, it has colourful plumage in exquisite shades of red, green and blue that contrasts with the more muted colours of the other birds.

KEY WALLPAPER COLLECTIONS

Malanga

The fabulous, textured finishes of Malanga embody the wildness of nature — the bark of jungle trees, the scales of an animal hidden by tropical plants, the limb of a banana leaf and its intertwining veins. With strong, deep colours and a matte texture enhanced by subtle shine, the identity of the forest is seen in Malanga.

Senshi

Inspired by Haute Couture where a warrior’s armour can take on the beauty of a jewel, Senshi evokes artistic craftsmanship through its careful treatment of the materials and the finesse of the designs. The paper creates smooth waves, the sequins create highlights. The textile is meticulously cut and pasted, the tissue paper gently crumpled and patinated, creating the illusion of metal. Beauty becomes strength and armour an ornament.

Portfolio

In an artist’s studio, a soft light touches the sketches, showing the artist’s skill in the precision of the lines and the discreet genius of the strokes. With its polished designs, the Portfolio collection evokes the finesse of an artist’s work.
