"The large format pattern had a direct link to the colour palette in the wallpaper and the linen fabric was the perfect choice for a beach apartment."
I+D Studio | McNally Architects worked collaboratively with the owner to achieve an easy to maintain home reflecting the beachside environment.
The brief was to redesign and renovate the existing apartment and address the spatial planning to create a functional and restful space for the family to enjoy.
Taking inspiration from the local area, the warm neutral, soft tones of the beach and the deep green/blue from the ocean, McNally Architects have ensured these elements flow through the interiors to connect to the outside environment. The design required a specific colour palette and mood in searching for the feature patterns in the interiors scheme. Two of the key feature prints are sourced from the James Dunlop Textile ranges.
The Mokum by Catherine Martin La Palma wallpaper in Gilver provided the perfect backdrop for the clients study nook, and fit the coastal aesthetic that can be seen throughout the rest of the apartment.
Designs of the Time Karakum print created a nice connection with the two spaces. The large format pattern had a direct link to the colour palette in the wallpaper and the linen fabric was the perfect choice for a beach apartment.
The light colour palette in the flooring and finishes makes the space appear larger and are offset by the stronger colours used in the fabric and furniture selection.
The overall result is a family home with an inviting and contemporary ambiance.
