As the most common colour in nature, it represents balance and encourages calm and serene environments. Greenery reflects a desire to connect with nature and to consciously disconnect from technology.
From Pantone; ‘Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.’
Greenery is particularly influential for 2017 as strong social and political environments take forefront throughout the world. Encompassing ideas of nature and reassurance, it has a strong relevance with current turbulent times providing a symbol of hope. The more submerged people are in modern life, the stronger we see the desire for a fresh beginning and to be revitalised by the natural beauty of the world.
Greenery has a strong yellow pigment making it a bold, bright colour for all facets of design; interiors, architecture, fashion, food, and travel. The vibrancy of this colour is invigorating; often introduced to interiors through lush vegetation as well as being a strong trend in paint, textiles, wallcoverings and homewares.
Although green can often be a complex colour to work with, we have been inspired by Greenery and have curated some beautiful interiors from around the world that embrace this colour trend.
