Miss Moonshine's
Auckland

Popular market stall eatery Miss Moonshine’s engaged the skills of interior designer Caz Mackie from Izzard Design to help design their flagship restaurant in Auckland.

The brief called for high performance booth seating that met the theme of a Southern style BBQ and gave the feel of a worn in, old saddle and denim vibe. The focal element of the space was to be a huge wall mural of an Angus bull on the back wall and the remaining finishes were to be subtle and contrasting in texture so as not to distract from this feature.

We immediately suggested Brisa Distressed in colour Steerhide by Ultrafabrics. The PU polyurethene product had the softness and suppleness of leather while also meeting the high performance characteristics that the client required.

For contrast, and to add some softness to the space, Caz used Barbados colour Ebony by Mokum on the chair seat tops. The multi tonal colourway hides a myriad of sins and coupled with the extremely high rub rate and the exceptional clean-ability, it became the ideal solution for this demanding environment.
